Linda Scheid (b. June 16, 1942) was a Democratic member of the Minnesota State Senate from 1997 until her death on June 15, 2011. Scheid served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1976 to 1978 and again from 1982 to 1992.

Scheid graduated with her bachelor's degree from Coe College and with her juris doctor degree from William Mitchell Law. Before serving in public office, Scheid's professional experience included working as a teacher and attorney.

Scheid won re-election to the 46th District seat in 2010. She had no primary opposition. Ryan Sibinski ran for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

On November 7, 2006, Scheid won re-election to the 46th District Seat in the Minnesota State Senate, defeating Steve Arakawa (R).[2]

Taxpayers League of Minnesota

The Taxpayers League of Minnesota, a Minnesota-based taxpayer advocacy organization, releases a legislative scorecard for the Minnesota House of Representatives and Minnesota State Senate once a year. The scorecard gives each legislator a score based on how they voted in the prior legislative term on tax issues and “their efforts to balance the state budget without a tax increase.” The organization also compiles a legislator’s individual "Lifetime Score."[3]

Scheid represents Minnesota Senate District 46. District 46 includes the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburbs of Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park[5].
