Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Ryan Costello (R) defeated Mike Parrish (D) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Neither candidate faced a primary opponent in April.[1][2]

Li initially declared for Pennsylvania's 7th District, but switched to the 6th District in December 2015.[3] Li then dropped out of the race in April 2016 after her nominating petitions were challenged.[4]
