Jean-Baptiste ran for re-election for the 9th Subcircuit judge of the Cook County Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. He won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Lionel Jean-Baptiste received his undergraduate degree in political science from Princeton University in 1974 and his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1990.[1] Prior to joining the court, he was an alderman from Evanston from 2001 to 2011.[1]

Jean-Baptiste was elected without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. He previously ran successfully in the March 20, 2012 Democratic primary, receiving 61.54% of the vote over fellow judge Michael Ian Bender.[2][3][4]
