Four of the nine seats on the Grand Island Public Schools school board were up for general election on November 8, 2016. Ward A incumbent Terry Brown ran unopposed and won re-election to his seat. Lisa Albers won one of the seats up for election in Ward B after running unopposed. Don Doty originally filed to run for the other Ward B seat, but withdrew from the race before the election. State law required the board to appoint someone to the open seat that no candidate ran to fill.[1] In Ward C, incumbent Roger Harns also ran unopposed and won re-election to his seat.[2]

Funding

Albers reported no contributions or expenditures to the Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Committee as of November 3, 2016.[3] Candidates were not required to file campaign finance reports unless they received or expended $5,000 or more in a calendar year.[4]
