Campaign themes

2010

Becker summarizes her positions by saying that she believes "We have too much government, ...We have too many laws...and We need to get back to the basics." The two areas that Becker feel are in need of reform are taxes and jobs.

  • Taxes - Becker's position is that some of the bureaucracy needs to be eliminated, pensions of state officials should be discontinued, political candidates should not get campaign funds from the government and non-violent offenders should not be incarcerated.
  • Jobs - Becker believes in promoting renewable energy industry, mentoring of the unemployed by small business developers, giving tax breaks to entrepreneurs, and moving education from public to private entrepreneurial adventures.
  • Other issues - Becker, among other issues, believes in limits to two terms, no restrictions of gun ownership, and no electronic surveillance. techniques
