I grew up in a small town in Nebraska, however South Dakota was like my second home. I have worked hard all my life. My favorite job in high school was working on a ranch, haying and branding cattle.

I went to Omaha, Nebraska after I graduated. Grace Bible College and Omaha University. were the colleges I attended. My best education came from mentors who did well in their own businesses. I learned a lot from successful people. I started two business and after fourteen years sold my companies and moved to South Dakota to help care for my parents when they get older.

I started Home Health Agency in South Dakota. I have also been a legislative lobbyist for Concerned Woman for America. I also sit on the West River Sex Trafficking Task Force. Been married for thirty years, have two beautiful daughter, great son-in -laws. We have just had our first grandchildren and that is such a blessing.

We have been foster parents for teenage girls, took in foreign exchange students. Also had the opportunity to be youth leaders for our church, so we have always been very involved. I feel it is time for me to step-up and run for state legislator. I am hoping to keep South Dakota the way I remember it growing up. Of course we want economic development for our state, but I feel we can do that and still keep our freedoms, which are slowly being taken. Our children need to have Hope for their future.

I feel that "If we stand together, We win together."
  • Keeping our Freedom of Speech, The right to Bear Arms and the others
  • Economic Development, would love to see our state more independent
  • Parental Rights and Education
Lower Taxes

Religious Freedoms

Education
I had a teacher in school when I was in third grade and I had a lisp, I remember her coming to my parents

house and asking if she took time after school if I could get help with my speech.
She is one lady I looked up to now that I am older, because if it wasn't for her taking personal interest in
helping me, I would still have the speech problem.
This is the type of character I want to have. Helping people that need help and hoping you have made a difference.

I wish I could have told her thank you, but she has passed.
I feel a person being elected should have integrity, strength to fight for what is right, not getting caught up on feelings but look at the facts and what is true. Having the wisdom to hopefully make the correct decisions that need to be made because people depend on you taking the position they gave you seriously.
Try and have a backbone when needed. Most of all, they need to know that a person truly cares what happens to them and this state.
I am a good Listener

I work well with others
I strive to succeed
I educate myself on things if I don't know something

I have a strong family who supports me
Listen to what the constituents want, hear all the facts presented and then use the wisdom God gives me to make the correct decision. Pass good policies.
For my family to remember that I always put God first

For my family to know that I would do anything for them
I want people to say, that I was a giver and not a taker.

I want people to say, that they truly felt I cared and that I always tried making a difference for the better for us and that she really cared about our children and our youth. She always tried giving them Hope and that they were important.
I remember my parents still being scared about the Cuban War. I was very little,
I would remember my dad saying that if we got invaded, he would try and figure out how to protect us.
My first Real Job was

Account Representative for an Animal Feed Company

5 years
Road Runner, because I always have so much I want to do and If I had his speed, I could get a lot more done. Plus he has little honoree side to him and I can be honoree to see what people will say or do. But it is all in fun and the Road Runner likes to have fun also.
I did not come from a family with money. We were poor when I was young. I had to work when I was 12 delivering papers, and I have never stopped working. I have worked real hard to have a great family, I have worked hard for the things I have.

The thing I struggle with, is to make time for myself and slow down some. I am worried if I slow, I will end back where I was when I was young, with nothing.
I think that is a struggle to know when to take time for myself. At times I put other peoples needs before mine and my family and that isn't always good.

I have a great family.
The Governor position is to be respected and I am hopeful that as a legislature you help pass policies that will make a leader better. I also would hope the governor would also want to work together with the legislatures to come up with great policies and that egos on both sides would not get in the way.
Help Keeping taxes low so it helps the poor and middle class keep more money in their pockets for their families.
I also feel that we need to be more independent as a state so we don't rely so much on other country's for our needs.
i believe the benefits are that if a law is trying to get passed, it has a good check and balance. Bills brought to a committee is debated and that is always good.

Drawbacks are, if you don't have people in office for the right reasons, people can be persuaded to pass bills because of something they have been promised, and that leads to personal gain, not what is best for the state.
I think they should be involved in their communities or organizations so they know what is going on where they live. The best thing for a legislator is to be a giver not a taker. Givers will always want to try and do what is best for others and the state.
Of course it is. In order to build a good business or policies for your state, you need to be able to see what peoples strengths are and communication is the only way to try and get things done the right way.

Trying to do it all on your own makes you a person that doesn't think they can learn from another person.

That doesn't mean you will always agree, but the communication needs to be there.
I don't know if there ever really is a good process. That is something I would want to talk to people who have been through it and see what they have experienced and then make a good decision on that.
Yes, I had a mom who had a child with down syndrome, and how she was treated when she had her son.
The hospital and staff treated her awful and her son. This lady and her son and family are the most amazing people I have met. She has so much love and strength, we could all learn from.
I think they should be able too help oversee it.
I do believe compromise is necessary, but I also believe that if you loose integrity just to make a policy, then you have already sold out.
