Lisa I. Swenski is a judge on the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas Domestic Relations Division in Elyria, Ohio. She was elected to the court in November 2012 to a term expiring in 2019.
Education
Swenski received both her undergraduate degree and her J.D. from the University of Toledo.[1]
Career
Prior to becoming a judge, Swenski practiced law at her firm Simonoff & Swenski, Co., LPA. She has also served as an intake magistrate for the Juvenile Court and as a guardian ad litem.[2]
2012 election
Swenski defeated incumbent David J. Berta in the Democratic primary on March 6, winning 58.55% of the vote. She was elected to the court after running unopposed in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3] [4]Swenski was one of only three candidates out of 140 judicial races in Ohio to defeat an incumbent.[5]
