I've lived in Orange Township since 1998. I have a B.A. in business from Otterbein College. I have three adult sons, all graduates of Orange HS, and several small pups. I enjoy nature, playing with my dogs, hiking, playing soccer, and spending time with friends and family. I started working for the township in zoning in 1998, and after 12 years, ran for office against the incumbent in 2011 because I wanted to provide better service to our residents.

I'm your voice at Township Hall. I'm fully independent: unlike many candidates for public office, I'm not beholden to any idea or party, and I don't take money from developers. I make each decision carefully on its own merits, and my campaigns are funded by residents and me. I'm also practical and honest: I don't make promises that sound great on the campaign trail but are impossible to fulfill, just to get votes. My future plans include ensuring that high-density proposals are rejected, more green space is preserved, and working on a community plan to tackle increasing crime in the area. I also pay close attention to township finances and single-handedly rooted out corruption.

I'm nearing the end of my third term in office. I've watched the township grow exponentially over the years, and I enjoy listening to residents, advocating assertively on their behalf, ensuring fiscal accountability, thinking outside of the box, solving problems, and helping make Orange Township a great place to live!
  • RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT. Our rapid growth has resulted in increased traffic, overcrowding, increased crime, and additional school levies. I adhere to our land use plan, hold the line on overdevelopment, and I'm not afraid to say "no" to big developers, several of which have recently and unsuccessfully attempted to bring irresponsible development to the township. We can't afford to go backwards: my predecessor from 2020-2021 was funded by developers and approved 100's of apartments, and a plan that resulted in gas stations and industrial uses being built directly adjacent to residents, with zero input. After I was re-elected , I spearheaded a moratorium on that destructive plan. I protect our residents.
  • PROJECT COMPLETION. During my 3 terms, every project endeavored that was initiated and/or approved by our voters has been completed or is in progress, including the new North Road Park and playground, which I helped design, the Veterans Memorial, miles of bike trails, the repaving of roads, the replacement fire station, more township activities/events for residents, new signage at the historical Williamsville cemetery, the disc golf course, new and innovative parking regulations to address residents' complaints, etc. I initiated the plan for tornado sirens for Orange Township, helped re-open Township Hall for non-profit groups, initiated EMS billing to bring millions of dollars to the township, and much more.
  • RETAIN KNOWLEDGE. Every organization needs experienced leadership, and institutional knowledge is important. I have 27 years of township experience and have attended over 2,500 township meetings and hearings, providing me with the tools to make good decisions for our residents, and I have the connections and persistence to help solve residents' problems. Combined with the perspectives of our newer officials, we have a synergistic balance of experience, innovation, and energy. Growing pains and rapid elected official and employee turnover contributed greatly to inconsistency, corruption, and strife at township hall over the years, resulting in diminished efficiency. The current Board can disagree without being disagreeable.
I am Orange Township residents' voice at Orange Township Hall! I enjoy solving their problems, and am passionate about improving our residents' quality of life by providing outdoor recreational opportunities including parks and trails, access to businesses they actually want, fighting crime, rejecting poor-quality developments, and holding more community events. I'm also passionate about maintaining our natural areas and the beauty of Delaware County. I help make sure we only ask for the minimum necessary for levies, and I spent years to ensure that our finances are transparent.

I enjoy getting input from residents, and advocating for any issue that's important to them, even when it means pushing the envelope.
Critical thinking skills, independence, teamwork, the ability to change one's mind, thoughtfulness, incorruptibility, intelligence, the ability to listen, problem-solving skills, honesty, the ability to vote differently than your peers, empathy, and the ability to understand positions that differ from yours.
A Board of Township Trustees is like a mayor divided into three parts, but even more hands on as it is a local government. A trustee is responsible for every aspect of township governance, including planning, building and maintaining our roads, parks, and our fire department; hiring employees; considering rezoning applications; supporting our businesses; serving as an a liaison/ambassador to other governmental agencies; creating and implementing regulations; and all other township policies.
That I cared for others and made at least a small part of the world a better place.
The first event I recall was the Iran hostage crisis. I was just 8 and didn't understand it. The next was the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan when I was 10. The first historical event that I understood and took very personally was the tragic Challenger space shuttle explosion, when I was a high school freshman in geography class.
I started working at Wendy's the day I turned 16 and I worked there for 2.5 years. I enjoyed it as I liked interacting and serving customers, and it kept me busy. Later, I worked at various frozen yogurt shops.
Mysteries because I love solving situations and have an investigative mind. His Needs/Her Needs because it helped explain the differences between men and women. The Five Love Languages as it helps me figure out what is important to family members.
Ben Franklin. I have never considered myself wanting to be like any fictional character.
Nothing specific, but I really love kids telling me about how much they love our playgrounds and other recreational spaces.
I am proud of helping raise my four younger siblings, ages 4, 6, and 7, when my mother died of cancer at the age of 36 and I was just 10. I also raised myself. It made me a very responsible, hardworking, and empathetic person.
