Lisa Porter
Lisa M. Porter was a Criminal Division judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She was appointed by former Governor Charlie Crist in April of 2008, effective May 2. She was re-elected on November 2, 2010 to a six-year term that ended on January 2, 2017.[1][2][3][4][5]
Education
Porter received her B.S. (in Psychology) and J.D. degrees from the University of Florida in 1984 and 1987, respectively.[3]
Career
Porter began her career in 1988 as an assistant state attorney for the 5th Judicial Circuit. She joined the Florida Attorney General's Office of Statewide Prosecution in 1995 and served there as Chief Assistant Statewide Prosecutor for 13 years. She was then appointed to the circuit court in 2008.[3][6]
2010 election
Porter won the election in the primary, receiving 70.2% of the vote. She then ran unopposed and was elected in the general election on November 2nd.[4][7]
