Washington won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California outright in the primary on June 7, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.

Washington was appointed to the court by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on April 28, 2020, to replace Dan Thomas Oki.[1]

Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Washington's appointment on April 28, 2020, identified Washington as a Democrat.[1]
