Lisa White Hardwick is a judge on the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District. She was appointed to this court on May 2, 2001, by Democratic Governor Bob Holden and was retained in 2002. She was retained again in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2026.[1]

Education

Hardwick earned her bachelor's degree from University of Missouri in 1982 and her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1985.[1]

Career

Hardwick joined the firm of Shook, Hardy & Bacon in 1985 and was a partner from 1992 to 2000. She was subsequently elected to the Jackson County Legislature, serving from 1993 to 2000. She was appointed to the 16th Judicial Circuit in January 2000.[1]

Supreme Court nomination

Missouri's Appellate Judicial Commission submitted the names of judges Ron Holliger, Lisa White Hardwick and Zel Fischer to Gov. Matt Blunt as nominees to the state’s high court in 2008. Hollinger and Hardwick were judges of the Missouri Court of Appeals Western District; Fischer was an associate circuit judge in Atchison County. The nominee would succeed Stephen Limbaugh Jr., who was selected to become a federal judge for the U.S. District Court for Eastern Missouri. Hardwick was not selected.[3]
