The United States will hold its 61st presidential election on November 7, 2028. The winner of the 2028 presidential election will be sworn into office on January 20, 2029.

This page provides a list of candidates who filed with the FEC to run for president.[1][2][3] In order to be included on this list, a candidate must file with the FEC to run in the 2028 presidential election. Click here to view the FEC's instructions on how to file.

A candidate for president must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, at least 35 years old, and a resident of the United States for at least 14 years.[4]

A candidate may declare his or her candidacy at any time, but once he or she receives contributions or make expenditures in excess of $5,000, the candidate must register with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) within 15 days.[4]
