Biography
Cox owns and operates the consulting firm, Due North and Associates. She is also a mediator for the Restorative Justice Center. She has experience working with government agencies and nonprofits. She volunteers with Rotary International, Boy Scouts of America and the Great Outdoors Foundation. Cox obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of North Dakota.[1]

Four of the seven seats on the West Des Moines Community Schools School Board were up for election on September 8, 2015. The available seats represented the district at-large.
Incumbents Milton Cole and Andi Lipman were defeated in the election. Incumbent David Brown retained his seat. Candidates Liz Cox, Melinda Dunnwald and Jill Johnson won the seats of Cole and Lipman as well as the open seat left by incumbent Kevin Carroll who did not run for re-election. Candidates Michele Dahlen and Judy Jesse were also defeated in the election.[2][3][4]
