Liz Sanchez was an at-large representative on the Alhambra District Governing Board in Arizona. She was first appointed to the office in January 2005. She lost re-election in the November 4, 2014, general election.

Sanchez studied accounting at University of Texas in El Paso. She is employed as a secretary for the Arizona School Boards Association. She volunteers with NALEO Education Task Force, NALEO National Policy Institute Healthy Communities and St. Luke’s Health Initiative.[1]

Sanchez is the vice president of the National Hispanic Caucus of School Board Members. She has previously served as the secretary and treasurer for the organization, as well. She is also the Region 1 Director of the Hispanic Native American Indian Caucus. She is also a member of the City of Phoenix Save Our Parks Committee and Alhambra Village Planning Committee.[1]

Sanchez has three children who all attended Alhambra district schools.[1]

Two at-large seats on the Alhambra District Governing Board were up for general election on November 4, 2014.

One incumbent, Liz Sanchez, ran for re-election, while Billie Foltz, the other incumbent, did not run . The following challengers filed sufficient signatures and were official candidates for the at-large seats: Cathleen M. O'Neil Frantz, Gabriel Zermeno, Ray David Martinez Sr. and Schilla Greenleaf.

Newcomers Cathleen M. O'Neil Frantz and Ray David Martinez Sr. won the general election.[2]
