Lloyd J. Medley, Jr.
Lloyd J. Medley Jr. was a judge for the Orleans Parish Civil District Court (Division D) in Louisiana. He was first elected to this position on November 5, 1996, and he was re-elected to consecutive terms without opposition. He is also a former chief judge, having served for two years, beginning on January 1, 2009.[1][2]
In 2014, Medley was defeated in his bid for re-election. His term expired on December 31, 2014.[3][4]

Medley ran for re-election to the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.
Primary: He was defeated in the primary on November 4, 2014, receiving 42 percent of the vote. He competed against Nakisha Ervin-Knott.

Education
Medley received a bachelor's degree in English and social studies from the University of New Orleans, a master's degree in special education from the same school, and a J.D. from the Southern University School of Law in 1980.[2]
Career
Medley worked as an assistant city attorney of the traffic court for 10 years prior to his judicial election in 1996. He also worked as a private practice lawyer and is a former teacher in the public schools of Orleans and Jefferson parishes.[2]
