I am a Colorado native who is passionate about our state, the people that live here, and the political prosses. I was raised in Southern Colorado which helped bolster my interest and love for the outdoors and taught me the need for proper forest management. I am an Eagle Scout, a seminary graduate, and a former missionary, all this has lead to an interest in service. My political experience started when I was appointed to the La Veta, CO Town Board at the age of eighteen. As a trustee, I served on many committees including the water and sewer committee, police and code enforcement committee, and the budget and finance. I also served as a secretary and then vice president of the La Veta/Cuchara Chamber of Commerce. I am running to serve a larger constituency and provide representation to those who live in my District.
  • Water is the lifeblood of Southern Colorado. I will work to make water a viable and sustainable resource.
  • Our rights and freedoms are being stifled by regulation, I will stand against any loss of freedom or constitutional rights.
  • Education is vital to the prosperity of individuals and our country, I will work to improve education for Colorado families.
I am passionate about education and making sure we can provide the best education to Colorado families while improving conditions for teachers. I am a strong supporter of our water rights, we have a finite resource that needs proactive protection to maintain its sustainability for our future. This includes my support for those in the agricultural community. I am a strong supporter of our constitution and the rights that it affords us. I will work to make sure our rights and freedoms are not eroded by over-regulation.
9/11 happened when I was six years old. At the time I did not know why it was so historical but I knew from the reactions of those around me and the fact that the image of the planes hitting the towers was shown so often that it was a major deal and it made an impact on me.
