Longest serving judge in Louisiana to retire in 2011

Louisiana: Joan Bernard Armstrong, chief judge of the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal and the state's longest serving judge, announced her plans to retire at the end of her term in 2011. She first became a judge on the Orleans Parish Juvenile Court in 1974. She then joined the Court of Appeal in 1984.[1]
