This measure sought to create a new Lookingglass fire district and implement a levy at a rate of $1.55 per $1,000 of assessed value to fund district operations.[2] Opponents to this measure had stated that dissolving and then creating a new fire district is unnecessary and in part illegal. District officials had countered that they need more money to pay for their operational expenses and did not seek to deceive residents on the issues.[3]
