Lora Shiao was the acting director of national intelligence in the Biden administration from January 20 to January 21, 2021.[1][2]
As of 2021, she was the chief operating officer at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.[3]
Biography
Shiao worked across the intelligence community with assignments in the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Defense, and other intelligence agencies. She was an intelligence briefer to the attorney general and FBI director from 2005 to 2007.[4]
She was the senior advisor for strategic programs and analysis at the NCTC's Directorate of Intelligence from 2014 to 2015 and the deputy director for terrorist identities from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 to 2019, she was the deputy director of intelligence.[4]
She became the executive director of the NCTC in 2019, before being appointed deputy director of the NCTC in 2020.[4]
