Martell completed a candidate survey for the Duluth News Tribune. In it, she said, “ The best chance to make any academic progress, including with the achievement gap, is to catch any impediments to learning early… I want to make certain we maximize the value of every dollar for early childhood education and intend to do my best to protect local taxpayers from shouldering any more of the burden.”
