Lorenzo F. Garcia was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico. He was appointed to this position on November 9, 1992, and retired from judicial service on January 3, 2014.[1][2][3]

Career

Judge Garcia became a judge in 1978 when he was appointed to the New Mexico First Judicial District Court. After serving as Chief of this district, he was appointed to the New Mexico Court of Appeals, where he worked until he became a federal magistrate judge in 1992. During his tenure on the Court of Appeals, he also served as a "designated justice" on the New Mexico Supreme Court for multiple cases. He has taught law at the National Judicial College, the University of New Mexico and the University of South Carolina’s National Advocacy Center.[1]
