Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
| “ | What is your political philosophy?
Running for our school board is really coming full circle for me. I’m a product of our CUSD schools. I grew up in Sunnyvale and attended West Valley Elementary and Cupertino Middle when it was still a Jr. High. This is the community and schools that helped to raise me, and this is the community and schools helping me to raise my own 2 children. I’m a big believer in actions speaking louder than words. I have dedicated myself to service to this school district for the majority of the last decade, leveraging my leadership and professional skills to benefit kids in our community. I was honored to receive the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation's Community Service Leadership Award in 2017 for my years of work on behalf of the children in our community. I am committed to the promise of public education and I believe that it is not just the foundation of our democracy, but of the American Dream as well. Every child needs resources, support, mentorship and love to thrive and I believe that happens best when our community, our parents, our school district and our elected leaders all come together in partnership for kids. The challenges we face as a school district will change over time, but what will not change is my commitment to listening, seeking input and finding common ground. I am grounded in our shared history, I am committed to our shared future and I would respectfully ask for your vote to our school board.[3] |
