The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 14, 2014. Lori Den Hartog defeated Charles Pratt Porter in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election. Rich Jarvis (R) filed to run but did not appear on the primary ballot.[7][8][9]
