As a commercial real estate broker and board member for a non-profit supporting homeless youth, I bring a unique blend of business acumen and community service. My experience in negotiation, strategic planning, and advocacy equips me to address economic and social challenges, making me well-suited for legislative service.
  • Crime and public safety; the Legislature should end catch and release, keeping violent repeat offenders behind bars, and strengthen border security to stop fentanyl and human trafficking. Legislation should also prevent releasing incompetent offenders who pose dangers, by establishing secure treatment facilities, enhancing evaluations, and providing long-term care and supervision.
  • Improve Education; we must empower parents, support data-driven and evidence-based programs, and focus on literacy, math, and science. By raising educational standards, we equip students with essential skills for success, leading to better long-term outcomes and higher educational achievements for all New Mexico students.
  • Economic Devolopment; to improve New Mexico's economic competitiveness, the state should reduce regulatory burdens, invest in workforce development and education, diversify the economy, offer competitive tax incentives, and support small businesses. These steps will create a business-friendly environment, attract investment, and promote sustainable economic growth for the state.
I am concerned about CYFD and believe legislators must prioritize child well-being. In my volunteer work with a local non-profit serving homeless youth, I have seen the system’s failures firsthand. We need to reform CYFD, increase oversight, and ensure that every child in New Mexico receives the support they deserve.
I believe an effective elected official must not only have a clear, forward-thinking plan that benefits the community long-term but also understand and care deeply about the issues facing constituents. Empathy is essential in working to address these challenges with compassion. Leaders should inspire others while prioritizing the needs of the community over personal or political interests. They must also be willing to collaborate across the aisle with various stakeholders to achieve common goals, all while maintaining transparency and fairness.
The core responsibilities of someone elected to the New Mexico House of Representatives are to represent constituents, craft, debate, and vote on laws, and provide budget oversight. The main responsibility is acting as a voice for the people of their district, understanding their concerns, and advocating for policies that improve their quality of life. We must address both local and statewide issues by collaborating with other representatives, stakeholders, and government agencies to find solutions that benefit all New Mexicans. Additionally, helping to allocate state resources through the budgeting process is key to ensuring taxpayer money is spent effectively and efficiently on public services. Above all, elected officials must prioritize the interests of the public and work toward the well-being of the state and its citizens.
I would like to leave a legacy of meaningful change and compassionate leadership. My hope is to be remembered as someone who worked tirelessly to improve public safety, elevate educational outcomes, and create opportunities for all New Mexicans. I want to be known for listening to the voices of my community, advocating for those who needed a champion, and fostering collaboration to achieve long-lasting solutions. Ultimately, I hope my legacy is one of making a tangible difference in people’s lives and leaving New Mexico a better, safer, and more prosperous place for future generations.
My very first job was babysitting, but my first paycheck came from working at Far North Movie Theatre. It was a fantastic job for a teenager, and I quickly learned the value of teamwork. I even moved up to being a projectionist, which was incredibly cool for a 15-year-old girl. Managing the responsibility of getting four theaters running on time and coordinating with the ticket booth and concessions was an amazing learning experience. I’ll always remember my manager and the important lessons she taught me during that period of my life.
I believe the ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature should be one of mutual respect, collaboration, and balance. While the governor and legislature have distinct roles, they share a common goal of serving the people and improving the state. Open communication is essential to ensure that both branches work together to address the needs of New Mexicans effectively.

The governor should provide leadership and vision, while respecting the legislature's role in shaping and passing laws. Similarly, the legislature should be willing to work constructively with the governor, even when there are differences in policy or approach. Both should prioritize the needs of the state over partisan or personal agendas, and engage in dialogue to find common ground on important issues. This cooperative relationship is key to ensuring that government functions smoothly, with both branches holding each other accountable and contributing to the overall well-being of the state.
Our primary focus must be on addressing our crime crisis and improving educational outcomes in New Mexico. Without tackling these critical issues, we cannot achieve success in economic development. Moreover, crime and education directly impact the quality of life for every New Mexican. By prioritizing public safety and education, we can create a stronger foundation for our communities, drive economic growth, and ensure a better future for all residents.
While previous experience in government or politics can be beneficial for state legislators, I believe it is not a requirement for effective leadership. Diverse backgrounds, including experience in business or community service can bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to government. What matters most is a strong commitment to serving the public, the ability to collaborate with others, and a deep understanding of the issues facing constituents. A mix of experienced and new voices can help create balanced, thoughtful policymaking that benefits all New Mexicans.
Yes, I believe it is essential to build strong relationships with other legislators. Effective policymaking relies on collaboration, communication, and the ability to find common ground, especially when addressing complex issues. Building relationships fosters trust, encourages productive dialogue, and makes it easier to work across the aisle to create solutions that benefit all constituents. Strong relationships also help legislators better understand diverse perspectives, leading to more comprehensive and balanced decision-making for the good of the state.
While I value the contributions of many legislators, I don’t have a single individual I aim to model myself after. Instead, I am inspired by those who prioritize integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to serving the people over personal or political gain. I admire leaders who are willing to work across party lines, make tough decisions, and stay focused on the long-term well-being of their communities. My goal is to embody these principles, bringing a strong work ethic and a deep sense of responsibility to my role.
There are so many stories that have moved me to tears and kept me awake at night. From the grandfather raising his grandchildren after his daughter was kidnapped and became a victim of human trafficking, to the father whose son was murdered two years ago, and the mother who lost her daughter to violence just a year ago. I've heard from the elderly woman too scared to leave her home, the veteran who taught me to say "thank you for what you have done for our country," and the grandmother fighting CYFD for custody of her granddaughter. The list goes on, and I have shared many tears with the constituents of District 30.

But I’ve also shared love, laughter, joy, and hope with them. I’m ready to fight for a better future for New Mexico because each of these individuals deserves a champion who remembers their pain and advocates in Santa Fe to prevent more victims and bring positive change.
As a new legislator, I recognize there will be much to learn, but my primary focus must be on addressing our crime crisis and improving educational outcomes in New Mexico. Without tackling these critical issues, we cannot achieve success in economic development. Moreover, crime and education directly impact the quality of life for every New Mexican. By prioritizing public safety and education, we can create a stronger foundation for our communities, drive economic growth, and ensure a better future for all residents.
Albuquerque Police Officers Association; Public Education Commissioner; NAIOP
I am interested in serving on the Commerce & Economic Development Committee due to my background in commercial real estate, which I believe will allow me to contribute valuable expertise. Additionally, I am drawn to the Education and Health Committees because of my deep passion for improving youth outcomes and reform the services provided by CYFD.
I believe that financial transparency and government accountability are essential for maintaining public trust and ensuring that elected officials are serving the best interests of their constituents. Financial transparency allows citizens to see how taxpayer dollars are being spent and ensures that funds are allocated effectively and responsibly. Government accountability ensures that public officials are held to high ethical standards and can be trusted to act with integrity.

I support measures that promote open access to government records, clear reporting of public expenditures, and strict oversight to prevent misuse of public resources. Additionally, elected officials should regularly engage with constituents, providing updates on their actions and decisions. This commitment to transparency and accountability is crucial for fostering trust and ensuring that government operates in a fair and efficient manner for the benefit of all New Mexicans.
