Collapse all
|- Crime and public safety; the Legislature should end catch and release, keeping violent repeat offenders behind bars, and strengthen border security to stop fentanyl and human trafficking. Legislation should also prevent releasing incompetent offenders who pose dangers, by establishing secure treatment facilities, enhancing evaluations, and providing long-term care and supervision.
- Improve Education; we must empower parents, support data-driven and evidence-based programs, and focus on literacy, math, and science. By raising educational standards, we equip students with essential skills for success, leading to better long-term outcomes and higher educational achievements for all New Mexico students.
- Economic Devolopment; to improve New Mexico's economic competitiveness, the state should reduce regulatory burdens, invest in workforce development and education, diversify the economy, offer competitive tax incentives, and support small businesses. These steps will create a business-friendly environment, attract investment, and promote sustainable economic growth for the state.
The governor should provide leadership and vision, while respecting the legislature's role in shaping and passing laws. Similarly, the legislature should be willing to work constructively with the governor, even when there are differences in policy or approach. Both should prioritize the needs of the state over partisan or personal agendas, and engage in dialogue to find common ground on important issues. This cooperative relationship is key to ensuring that government functions smoothly, with both branches holding each other accountable and contributing to the overall well-being of the state.
But I’ve also shared love, laughter, joy, and hope with them. I’m ready to fight for a better future for New Mexico because each of these individuals deserves a champion who remembers their pain and advocates in Santa Fe to prevent more victims and bring positive change.
I support measures that promote open access to government records, clear reporting of public expenditures, and strict oversight to prevent misuse of public resources. Additionally, elected officials should regularly engage with constituents, providing updates on their actions and decisions. This commitment to transparency and accountability is crucial for fostering trust and ensuring that government operates in a fair and efficient manner for the benefit of all New Mexicans.
