Campaign themes

2016

DeLoach made the following statements in a campaign advertisement:

  • Experience
I have 33 years of experience as a Paralegal in the areas of will/estates and real estate. In preparing wills, probates, administrations and handling real estate closing, I have touched over approximately 3,000 estate matters during my career.
  • Compassion
The Probate Court is a court for the people, and in dealing with the people you must have compassion. You must be approachable. In speaking with Probate Judges from other counties, it has been stated numerous times that "this job is 50% law and procedure, and 50% listening to people who need to be heard."
  • Non-Attorney
74% of probate judges currently holding office in the entire State of Georgia are non-attorneys. 54% of them are women. In counties of comparable size in population to Bulloch County (such as Glynn, Rockdale, Walton, Barrow, Troup and Walker), 100% of the probate judges currently in office are non-attorneys. 50% of those are women.
  • If Elected
I will use my skills that I have learned of the last 3 decades, but I will also use my faith to continue to make this a court of compassion for the people of Bulloch County.[5]
—Lorna DeLoach (2016)[6]
