Lorraine Merrill
Lorraine Merrill is a former New Hampshire commissioner of agriculture. Merrill was appointed by Gov. John Lynch in 2007, and reappointed by Governor Maggie Hassan to a second five-year term in 2013.[1][2] Merrill announced on September 7, 2017, that she would retire from her position, remaining in office only until a successor was confirmed. Her last day in office was December 8, 2017.[3][4]
Biography
Merrill is a co-owner of Stuart Farm, a 270-acre dairy enterprise with 240 milking cows and nearly 200 head of young cattle situated at the edge of the Great Bay Estuary.[2] She also works as the field editor of Hoards Dairyman and as a policy fellow at the Thomas Jefferson Agricultural Institute and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.[1]

Merrill was sworn into a five-year term as the New Hampshire commissioner of agriculture on December 6, 2007, and reappointed to a second five-year term in 2013. She declined to seek a third term in office.[5][4]
