Lou Gentile
Lou Gentile is a former Democratic member of the Ohio State Senate, representing District 30 from 2011 to 2016. He was first appointed to the chamber in November 2011 to replace Jason Wilson (D), who was chosen by Gov. John Kasich (R) to head the office of Appalachia.[1][2] He also served as assistant minority whip.
Gentile served in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 95 in 2011.
Biography
Gentile earned his B.S. from West Virginia University. His professional experience includes working as a field representative for former Congressman Ted Strickland, as a special assistant for Strickland's campaign for governor and as an assistant director in the governor’s office of Appalachia.[3]

Although thought to be a possible candidate for Ohio's 6th Congressional District, Gentile announced in August 2013 that he would not challenge incumbent Bill Johnson (R) in the 2014 elections.[7]

Gentile won re-election in the 2012 election for Ohio Senate, District 30. Gentile was unopposed in the March 6 Democratic primary election and defeated Shane Thompson (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[8][9]
