Louisa Abbot is a former judge of the Eastern Circuit of Georgia.[1] She was appointed to the court in 2000 and retired in 2023.

Education

Abbott received her undergraduate degree from Augusta College, and her J.D. from the University of Georgia.[2]

Career

Abbott was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1982. She began her career as a law clerk for judge Avant Edenfield, judge of the United States District Court. After that, she worked in private practice, and then clerked for Chief Judge Perry Brannen, Jr. of the Georgia Superior Court.[3]
