I am a proud resident of Brookings and an active member of the community. South Dakota grown, I value honesty, hard work, and togetherness. I've spent my entire career focused on community engagement, advocating for the needs of others, and motivating diverse groups of people to achieve common goals. I spend my time in Brookings building relationships and connections, advocating for local business and entrepreneurship, and ensuring that the diverse voices of our community are heard.
  • Accessible & Transparent Government. South Dakota deserves to be guided by lawmakers that are truly representative of their communities, that are honest and open, and that are easily accessible to those they represent. The people of South Dakota deserve a government that works for them.
  • Inclusion. I believe we are in need of leaders with listening ears, and open minds with missions of inclusion to promote innovation and create resilience in our state. South Dakota communities are made up of a diverse patchwork of individuals and there is more room needed at the table for their voices to be heard.
  • Conservation. I believe that the conservation and preservation of our state's natural resources is essential. Systems that protect our soil health, waterways, and wildlife ensure our state's economy and communities will thrive for many generations.
Agriculture.

Agriculture is not only one of the largest industries in South Dakota, but is a large part of our culture and the feasibility of sustaining a small family farm operation is quickly diminishing. I believe small farms support their local economies, holistically practice land stewardship, and create agricultural diversity.

Higher Education.
I believe in creating more affordable higher education to further support the bright, creative minds in our workforce as well as the emerging young leaders in our communities. Beyond affordability, it is also important to ensure the rights and resources our state's universities require to provide the best education for all.

Local Business.

I believe local business is the backbone of South Dakota's economy and the communities they serve. Local business supports community well-being, ensures local decision making, strengthens local economies, and fuels innovation.
An elected official should be accessible and willing to initiate conversations with the people they represent. An elected official should not act solely on their own personal beliefs and morals but act on the guidance of their constituents. I believe the responsibility of being an elected official is being the mouthpiece of our communities, amplifying the voices of those that are very seldom heard.
I envision a South Dakota that serves its communities and people in a way that is equitable, that is a steward of its natural resources for the benefit of future generations, and a South Dakota that recognizes the hard work and determination of its people.
My very first job was in high school, as a city lifeguard and swim instructor. I was a lifeguard for three summers. My favorite part of the job was teaching swimming lessons! I loved connecting with my students and building their skills in the pool.
