Louisiana Abolish Forced Heirship Amendment (October 1995)

The Louisiana Abolish Forced Heirship Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Louisiana on October 21, 1995, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed to abolish forced heirship except in the case where the surviving children are under age 24 or are disabled. In those cases, a portion of the estate must be left to the children.[1][2]
