Louisiana City Wastewater Treatment Facility Bond Measure (April 2011)
A Louisiana City Wastewater Treatment Facility Bond Measure was on the April 5, 2011 ballot in the Louisiana City area of Pike County.
This measure was approved
- YES 456 (76.64%)
- NO 139 (23.36%)[1]
This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $8 million in order to build a new wastewater treatment facility for the city. The current facility does not meet current standards and earlier in 2010 the city was forced to pay a fine to the Department of Natural Resources. The city needs this new facility and noted that local taxes will not increase to pay for the bond, rather it will be paid through the revenues obtained through the public works.[2]
