Louisiana City of Lake Charles Amendment (1968)

The Louisiana City of Lake Charles Amendment, also known as Amendment 39, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 5, 1968, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed to give the city of Lake Charles title to a portion of the bottom of Lake Charles. It also granted authority to the city to develop the area with a system of parks, beaches and other public works improvements.[1]
