The Louisiana Colleges to Acquire Stock Amendment, also known as Amendment 8, was on the ballot in Louisiana on October 6, 1990, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed that public colleges be permitted to acquire a company's stock in exchange for providing research services.[1]
