The Louisiana Community Centers in Calcasieu Parish Amendment, also known as Amendment 53, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 3, 1970, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. It proposed that all playground and community center districts in Ward 4 of Calcasieu Parish shall be governed by a board of commissioners.[1]
