The Louisiana Comply with Federal Laws Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Louisiana on February 1, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed adding Section 18 of Article IV. This would permit the adoption of new legislation that was necessary in order to obtain federal funding for construction projects.[1]
