The Louisiana Donation of Lands Amendment, also known as Amendment 8, was on the ballot in Louisiana on October 7, 1989, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. It proposed that local governments could donate land and equipment to companies that would provide employment opportunities.[1][2]
