The Louisiana Eliminate Deduction of Federal Tax Paid Amendment, also known as Amendment 3, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 6, 1984, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. This measure proposed that corporations could not deduct federal income taxes paid when calculating their state income tax. It proposed that this deduction be replaced by a legislatively determined deduction with a minimum amount of $1,000.[1]
