|
The Louisiana Homestead Property Tax Exemption Amendment, also known as Amendment 2, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 4, 1980, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The constitution that was adopted in 1974 called for property reappraisal in 1982. This amendment was intended to compensate for the rise in property taxes that might be caused by the reappraisal by raising the homestead tax exemption from $5,000 to $7,500 of assessed value.[1]
