The Louisiana Levee District of Orleans Amendment, also known as Amendment 6, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed to allow a two and one-half mill property tax in Orleans Parish along with a bond sale to pay for Lake Pontchartrain flood protection.[1]
