The Louisiana Port of New Orleans Amendment, also known as Amendment 8, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 3, 1970, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. This measure proposed to allow the Port of New Orleans to sell or lease its property and to use the proceeds for public purposes.[1]
