The Louisiana Remote Participation and Voting for State Legislators Amendment was not on the ballot in Louisiana as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 8, 2022.[1]
The amendment would have allowed legislators to participate and vote in open public meetings remotely during a public emergency. No measure could have been adopted through remote action unless a majority of the members of either house were unable to be at the state capitol to vote in person due to an emergency.[1]

In Louisiana, a two-thirds vote is needed in each chamber of the Louisiana State Legislature to refer a legislatively referred constitutional amendment to the ballot for voter consideration.
This amendment was introduced as Senate Bill 225 on March 3, 2022. On April 19, 2022, the state Senate passed SB 225 in a vote of 34-0 with four members absent. The measure was not passed before the legislature adjourned the 2022 legislative session on June 6, 2022.[1]
