The Louisiana Right to Serve at Polls Amendment, also known as Amendment 49, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 3, 1970, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. It proposed that the right to serve as a commissioner or clerk at the polls shall not be denied to any person who is qualified to vote and who is not registered as entitled to assistance at the polls.[1]
