The Louisiana Supreme Court Judges Amendment, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Louisiana on October 7, 1989, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. It proposed the creation of a black majority supreme court district in Orleans Parish.[1][2]
