Louisiana district judge resigns from case involving slaying of prison guard

Louisiana: Retired Judge Dennis Waldron of the Orleans Parish District Court has resigned from hearing the trials of five State Penitentiary inmates accused of killing a security officer. Judge Waldron has stated that he has asked the Louisiana Supreme Court to appoint another judge to the case, citing family health issues as his reason for resigning.[1]
