Louisiana held judicial elections on April 2, 2011, and October 22, 2011.
Louisiana elections use the Louisiana majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50% of the vote. If no candidate does, the top two vote recipients from the primary advance to the general election, regardless of their partisan affiliation.

Overview
April 2
On April 2, Concordia, Lafayette, Plaquemines, Rapides, St. Landry, Tangipahoa, Tensas, Webster, West Baton Rouge and Winn parishes voted on Justices of the Peace, and East Baton Rouge voted on a Family Court judge.
There were 11 Justice of the Peace seats and one Family Court seat up for election on April 2, 2011.
October 22
The qualifying dates for this election were September 6 through September 9.
