Lucas County Issue 2 was on the ballot as a referral in Lucas County on November 2, 2021. It was defeated.

A "yes" vote supported enacting for five years a property tax of $0.1975 per $1,000 in property valuation (0.1975 mils) to fund Imagination Station and replacing the existing property tax of $0.17 per $1,000 in property valuation.

A "no" vote opposed enacting for five years a property tax of $0.1975 per $1,000 in property valuation (0.1975 mils) to fund Imagination Station and replacing the existing property tax of $0.17 per $1,000 in property valuation.


The measure was estimated to generate approximately $1.5 million annually.[1]

A simple majority was required for the approval of Issue 2.

The ballot title for Issue 2 was as follows:

Property Tax Replacement and Increase for the operation and maintenance of Imagination Station. Replacing the 0.17 Mill with a 0.1975 Mill for a 5 year period, first collected in 2023

Toledo Imagination Station led the Vote For Issue 2 campaign. They argued that the measure would "serve our community by providing informal science education and fun in order to spark a passion for the sciences by combining interactive exhibits and educational programming". [2]
