I am a strong advocate for social justice, voter access, corruption, reform, and responding to the needs of constituents. Although I am a strong supporter of the Democratic Party, I feel it’s necessary to listen to both sides, and come up with compromise solutions.
  • Reproductive rights: women should have the right to control their own bodies. Period.
  • Annual property tax reassessments: Monmouth County residents are reassessed every year, while the rest of the state is reassessed every five years. This is unfair to the residents of LD 13.
  • Gun violence: New Jersey is one of the safest states in the country because of our common sense gun safety laws. We need to continue on the same path and make sure that we protect our students, our homes, and all of our citizens from unnecessary gun violence.
My entire adult life, I have been an advocate for women’s reproductive rights. We are currently facing a termination of those rights on a state by state basis since the overturning of Roe v. Wade. We cannot let this happen in New Jersey. But it’s not just abortion; it’s also the right to contraception, which will be seriously impaired if our legislature is controlled by the republican party.
I look up to all of the women who preceded me in politics, especially Barbara Jordan &, Nancy Pelosi, I also look up to our esteemed female supreme court justices
Honesty, compassion, intelligence, responsiveness and a willingness to meet and talk with constituents.
Understand the issues, try to develop a workable solution and pass appropriate legislation
I worked at Fort Monmouth as a summer intern, in the division of Maintenance Engineering. In that job, I was awarded an Official Army Commendation.
I returned the following summer to the same position.
Handmaid’s Tale. It’s chilling and far too familiar.
Wonder Woman. Who wouldn’t want to right wrongs?
The legislature needs to be a check on the governor, but also needs to be supportive when necessary
New Jersey is a very expensive state to live in. We are certainly challenged with trying to continue our incredible economic growth but be affordable.
I don’t think previous experience is necessarily beneficial. Like in corporate America, people often rise to their level of incompetence. I think we need to look at the individual and what they bring to the table.
It’s certainly helpful if you can work with legislators across the aisle. However, in today’s polarized culture, that’s pretty difficult.
The impact of the opioid crisis has had a real effect on me. I lost a nephew, to opioid addiction, and the challenges that my family faced dealing with it were insurmountable. We need to address this from a position of empathy.
Yes, compromise is necessary. But it should be done as a means not an end.
I would absolutely introduce a bill to overturn the annual property reassessments, the Assessment Demonstration Program in Monmouth County
