Lucretia Free was the youngest of three daughters born to Lawson and Earlene Mays in rural Ohio. Lucretia graduated from high school at the age of 16 and received her undergraduate degree in marketing at 19.

After working for a year, she earned her MBA at the age of 23, and quickly parlayed her educational knowledge and professional acumen to consulting with law firms. She started her career on the east coast, moved to the Midwest, and finally landed in San Francisco where she was one of the first marketing directors in the country for large corporate law firms.

While Lucretia loved the fast paced life of the big city, when she and her husband began having children, they chose the family friendly city of Tucson as the place to raise their family. Once there, she utilized her entrepreneurial spirit and corporate knowledge to launch the community newspaper called The Vail Voice, and The American Woman Shooter gun magazine.

Harkening back to her roots in rural Ohio, she applied her leadership skills to understand both the joys and frustrations of living in an unincorporated area. As a result, she established the South East Regional Council, to provide an opportunity for citizens to speak with one voice regarding hot spot issues that affect them.

Lucretia worked for District 4 Supervisor Steve Christy. She also Chaired the Pima County Transportation Advisory Committee and Small Business Commission

Access to capital continues to be a challenge as businesses try to mitigate slim operating margins. I am committed to reviewing, understanding and implementing policy changes and how they impact our business sector.
  • Our two military bases: Davis Monthan and Ft. Huachucha must continue to thrive and grow as a part of our vibrant Southern Arizona economy. Our military leaders must always have the resources they need to keep us all safe. We must be able to identify the threats that face us…both foreign and domestic and provide the financial stability for a strong defense.
  • As a sovereign nation, we have a right to say who comes into our country and who doesn't. We must control our borders. Criminal elements and drug traffickers are ruining opportunity for those immigrants who would like to grab ahold of the American dream and become productive, contributing members of society. I support the findings of the Western States Sheriff's Association in their resolution affirmed earlier in 2021. Our border is in crisis and is a threat to national security, public safety, and human rights. The numbers are staggering with more than 3,000 people a day either caught or surrendering there. Our Border Patrol agents are professionals who do their job with integrity, dedication, and courage. We must ensure that they have t
