Lucy Chernow Brown
Lucy Chernow Brown was a judge of the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. She was elected on September 4, 1990, and took office the following January. In 2008, she was re-elected to a new term that ended on January 5, 2015. She retired at the expiration of her term.[1][2][3]
Education
Brown received her B.A. from the University of Rochester in 1968, her M.A. from Columbia University in 1969 and her J.D. from Nova University Law Center in 1982. She also studied abroad at the University of London and did post-graduate work at the University of South Florida in 1974.[2][4]
Career
Brown began her career in 1982 as an assistant state attorney in the 15th Judicial Circuit. She worked in that capacity until 1985. After a short time as an assistant city attorney for West Palm Beach, she entered the private practice of law as a civil trial attorney. She was then elected to the circuit court in 1990.[4]
