Edward Romero defeated Luis Gomez for the Position 7 seat. Position 4 candidate Martha Castilla and Position 5 candidate Joe Guerra won election without opposition.[1] The members cannot take office until at least 2018 due to the state's takeover of the school board in March 2016.
